11 Year Old Boy Shot: In Britain, playing football proved so costly for a child that his life was in danger. In Leyland, Lancashire, this child was shot in the head with an airgun. His only fault was that he was playing football. The child’s condition remains critical.

According to the BBC report, this 11-year-old boy was playing with his friends in the back garden of a house on Roadtrain Avenue in Leyland on Monday, when the football went over the fence. So he climbed over the fence to get his football. In the meantime, a bullet was fired at him from an airgun which hit his head.

Head injury, admitted to hospital

The boy suffered a head fracture after being shot and was rushed to Alder Hey Hospital for surgery. Police said they were trying to identify the culprit. Det Con Paul Brown said: “This incident has caused some serious injuries to a young boy and it is fortunate he was not more seriously injured. He could have died.”

Police made this appeal to the local people

He further said, “We are trying to identify the people responsible and the investigation is going on. I would also appeal to everyone that if anyone has seen something or has captured something in someone’s camera or has any kind of evidence or any information that can help us in our investigation, please share it.”

He also said, “I’m sure someone local knows who is responsible for what happened to this young boy and I would urge them to come and talk to us.”
